The Architectural Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all architectural design activities, ensuring design intent is maintained throughout the construction stages, and acting as a liaison between consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. This role ensures timely and quality delivery of design-related documents and resolves technical design issues across various project stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage architectural design schedules and deliverables from concept through construction.
- Review and coordinate architectural plans, drawings and specifications to ensure design compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in obtaining authority approvals and managing compliance with local planning and building regulations.
- Collaborate with key external parties ie. architects, consultants, M&E engineers, sub-constructors and internal teams to address architectural and technical issues and ensure design intent is adhered to. Able to come out the combine services plan for both underground and ceiling services and identify the clashing to discuss with project team to resolve it.
- Prepare, review, and manage architectural documentation, including design proposals, tender packages and construction documents.
- Monitor changes or modifications to design and coordinate design revisions accordingly.
- Ensuring timely submission of drawings, materials, and approvals.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Facilitate design review meetings and document decisions or actions.
- Support project teams in resolving site-based architectural and design-related issues. Keep the Project Manager/s and relevant parties informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations and report to Project Manager/s daily on-site status.
Requirements:
- Degree in Architecture or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects.
- Strong understanding of design and construction documentation, materials, techniques and building codes.
- Proficient in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and BIM tools.
- Familiar with local authorities (URA/BCA/NEA/PUB/SCDF/LTA/SLA) requirements.
- Attention to technical detailing, specification knowledge and aesthetic know-how.
- Strong coordination and multi-tasking with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proactive, self-motivated and adaptable to dynamic project requirements.
- Ability to build up good relationships with consultants quickly, work independently and as part of a team.
