RESPONSIBILITIES
- HOMES
- Responsible for developing a comprehensive HOMES (Household Means Eligibility System) user guide for students to support the implementation of the HOMES process in October 2025. This guide will include but is not limited to detailed steps for bursary applications, advisory information, submission of consent forms, and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
- Creating a HOMES standard operating procedures document to provide CSFA staff with information pertaining to the facilitation and utilisation of HOMES.
- Creating marketing, outreach, and communication materials—such as electronic direct mailers (EDMs) and web content—to effectively communicate the new HOMES process to students and staff alike.
- Working with the CSFA team to support the implementation of the HOMES process, including participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshooting UAT-related issues, and addressing Go-Live enquiries.
- MOE Bursary
- Responsible for administering the award of MOE bursaries including managing the acceptance of offer letters and maintaining accurate records of both offers and awards.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure the timely disbursement of funds and provide support to students throughout the duration of their awards.
- Working closely with MOE and SMU Finance to manage cases of student withdrawal or termination from the programme, handling refunds, and follow up on repayments with both students and the Finance team.
- Financial Aid Processing.
- Responsible for the conduct and optimisation of the various processes that facilitate the award of financial aid including SMU Access Plus. Examples of these processes are application processing, enquiry management, awardees selection and FA offers, fund disbursements, and system record updates.
- Supporting tuition grant-related matters to ensure the smooth administration of financial aid.
- Assist to provide guidance and support for CSFA's contract staff in their responsibility to address financial aid queries from students and parents.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives within SMU to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Help to train and manage contract staff hired during peak periods.
- Donor-Funded Bursaries & Other Admin Duties
- From time-to-time assist in the management and award process for donor-funded bursaries administered by CSFA as required.
- Participate in outreach activities such as creating promotional banners, supporting Open House events, and working with schools to encourage student applications for financial aid.
- Other responsibilities include assisting with the Centre's day-to-day operations, undertaking duties assigned by CSFA management, and providing backup support for colleagues in other administrative functions.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Degree holder with at least 3 to 4 years of office administration experience; prior experience in the education sector and/or in customer service preferred.
- Prior experience with a good understanding of financial aid, bursaries, and/or scholarships will be an advantage.
- Experience in the conception and implementation of operational process improvement initiatives preferred.
- Possess strong time management skills — able to plan, prioritise, and coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Able to work effectively independently and in a team.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and well-organised.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to use Power BI and Power Automate will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with Canva and basic graphics editing software to design emailers and outreach materials will be a plus.
