Position Objective: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Director to lead our oil & chemical tanker commercial operations. The role is responsible for driving business acquisition, expanding partnerships, developing charterer networks, and ensuring sustained growth and market share within the oil & chemical tanker sector, while maximizing profitability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Market Research & Business Acquisition
Study the oil & chemical tanker shipping market and develop acquisition strategies. Expand the transportation market and identify cargo demand. Obtain information through multiple channels to secure orders. Analyze the characteristics and market demands of oil & chemical transportation, and carry out targeted marketing to meet customer needs.
- Investment Promotion & Charterer Development
Responsible for attracting partners and expanding the business. Identify and evaluate potential charterers, maintain relationships with existing charterers, and develop new ones to improve utilization rates.
- Contract Negotiation & Management
Negotiate key terms of transportation contracts with clients and charterers. Draft, review, and sign legal documents to ensure contracts are lawful, complete, and enforceable. Supervise contract execution, handle issues and disputes, and protect the company’s rights and interests.
- Service Coordination & Client Relationship
Coordinate with internal departments to provide transportation services, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of cargo. Handle customer complaints and feedback to enhance customer loyalty and the company’s reputation.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting
Regularly collect and organize oil & chemical tanker market information, including market trends, policies, regulations, and competitor activities. Produce analytical reports to support decision-making. Report on business, market, and team conditions to leadership, propose suggestions and improvement measures to promote company development.
Job Requirements
- Education & Major: Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Shipping Management, International Trade, Marketing, or related fields.
- Work Experience: More than 5 years of commercial work experience in the oil & chemical tanker shipping industry, with a proven track record in business development. Established network of clients and charterers highly preferred.
- Professional Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the oil & chemical shipping market, business negotiation skills, contract management, and legal frameworks.
- Skills & Competencies: Excellent skills in market expansion, business negotiation, client relationship management, team management, and communication & cross-functional coordination. Sharp market insight and strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Language: Fluent in Chinese & English, in listening, conversing, reading and writing due to the need to communicate with head office and business partners in China
