The Category and Shopper Insights Manager primary objective is to initiate, generate, synthesize, and translate all available category and shopper insights into the actionable in-store category growth platforms. Category & Shopper Insights manager will collaborate with Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Sales, Finance, Marketing and Consumer insights teams to develop actionable insights & support category capabilities growth in market.

Responsibilities include:

Category Leadership

  • Help interpret insights to support the commercialization of those insights into Shopper Marketing strategies, NPD development, Shopper Inspired Principles that culminate in the development of the Category Growth Platforms
  • Accountable for establishing collaborative category partnerships with focus customers that will deliver profitable growth for them & Blackmores.
  • Partner with Region stakeholders to develop best practice category partnerships and category captaincy with priority customers.

Category and Channel Strategy and planning

  • Partner in the development of 6Ps through an understanding of customers, categories, consumers and shoppers to maximize growth and profitability
  • Collaborate with Category Develop managers to Develop and embed Strategic Category thinking & Category Drivers into the channel & with our key customers.
  • Partner closely with Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Brand and Sales to support analyses that enables data-based decisions in growing category sales and retailer relationships

Customer & Shopper Initiatives

  • Drive the development, prioritizing and management of the annual Shopper Research Learning Plan through identifying critical knowledge gaps. This includes partnering with Customer Category Management teams in developing customer specific research and in-store solutions
  • Effectively negotiate mutually beneficial solutions with various stakeholders and influence key decision-makers to improve in-store presence & shopper conversion
  • Drive accountability of actionable insights that deliver a step change in shopper or consumer behaviour within the VDS category
  • Partner closely with Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Brand and Customer Marketing to support analyses that enable data-based decisions in growing category sales and retailer relationships

Promotion, Pricing & Trade Investment

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and account teams to develop a pricing and promotional framework for the Channel.
  • Work collaboratively with Group & Region Marketing on Portfolio pricing strategies to develop consistent approach across regions & help to commercialize/prioritise opportunities to drive sustainable category growth.

Who are you?

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, statistics, accounting, data analytics or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and articulate key insights and conclusions
  • Proficient in the use of all category management software, concepts, analytical techniques; advanced skills in sales (ie, Nielsen) & customer Data (Qual & Quant)
  • Excellent analytical skills with a track record in defining customer and business strategies through data driven decision making
  • Agile, flexible and growth mindset to drive organisations growth
  • A coach, mentor to support capability development across region
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence internal & external stakeholders
  • Passion for the customer and proven track record of delivering customer focused results
  • Ability to think critically and strategically to problem solve & drive future growth
  • Ability to build strong relationships, initiate action and adjust to change
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint & PowerBI
  • Experience in Shopper Research & understanding of methodology
