Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes (e.g., curries, tandoori items, breads, biryanis, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes).
- Ensure food is prepared according to authentic recipes, taste, and presentation standards.
- Supervise and guide kitchen helpers/assistants in food preparation.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
- Monitor food inventory, manage stock, and ensure proper storage of spices and ingredients.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients.
- Assist in planning menus, introducing seasonal/special dishes, and improving recipes.
- Coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Adhere to all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in an Indian restaurant/hotel.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, flavors, and traditional cooking methods (North/South Indian cuisine experience is an advantage).
- Ability to prepare multiple dishes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong passion for Indian cuisine and creativity in cooking.
- WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred, or willing to obtain).
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physically fit to handle kitchen duties (long hours, heat, heavy pots).
