The incumbent will lead a strategically-oriented and forward-looking Risk Management Function, with comprehensive oversight of Financial Risks, Capital and Asset-Liability Management, and Operational Risk. This role is critical in shaping a robust risk culture across the organization, especially during a period of transformation and integration.
A key mandate includes driving the risk integration of a new business line, ensuring alignment with Group and regulatory expectations while unlocking synergies and maintaining a unified risk framework.
As a core member of the company’s Executive Committee and senior management team, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in influencing business strategy and decision-making through a risk-informed lens. He/she will also act as a key liaison with Regional and Group Risk counterparts, as well as regulatory authorities including the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Strategic Leadership of Risk Function: Lead and elevate the Risk Management Function to be a proactive and strategic partner to the business, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, governance, and influence.
- Risk Integration of New Business Line: Drive the seamless integration of the newly acquired business unit into the existing risk management framework. Ensure timely alignment of risk policies, systems, controls, and culture with Allianz Groupstandards.
- Governance and Reporting: Oversee the timely and accurate production of risk reports, dashboards, and disclosures to support decision-making at the executive and board levels.
- Business Partnership & Advisory: Serve as a key advisor on risk matters in major business decisions including product launches, distribution partnerships, and new ventures, ensuring sound risk-return balance.
- Group and Regulatory Engagement: Engage actively with Allianz Group and Regional Risk teams, and represent the company in interactions with MAS and other relevant stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning and Capital Management: Contribute meaningfully to the annual Strategic and Planning Dialogues, embedding risk insights into the planning and capital management process.
Capabilities and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial, Economics, Mathematics or any other analytic science
- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience in Risk Management
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of prior work experience in Insurance, Financial Services or Professional Services preferred
- Effective communicator with strong command of English, both in speech and writing
- Business-minded; pragmatic; result-oriented with strong analytical and managerial skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality results; and take ownership of initiatives
