We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Consulting Manager to join a leading provider of supply chain automation solutions. In this role, you will lead a team of consultants in developing customized solutions, creating detailed documentation, and delivering compelling proposal presentations that drive business success. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical insight with business acumen, translating both quantitative and qualitative customer needs into actionable designs. This role is pivotal in shaping innovative, customer-centric concepts and supporting the sales team with technical expertise, solution design, cost estimates, and proposal materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of consultants in solution design and proposal development
- Ensure all consulting staff are equipped with the necessary training, tools, and resources to perform at the highest standards, providing ongoing support throughout each stage of the consulting process.
- Effectively manage the consulting team, overseeing task allocation and workload distribution to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, accurate work that meets customer expectations and deadlines.
- Ensure all appropriate steps of the consulting process are covered off adequately for all opportunities including:
- Auditing existing operations to understand their current and future challenges.
- Analysis of customer data to establish design level and identify opportunities.
- Developing design levels and documentation to capture solution requirements
- Review of RFP/tender documentation.
- Identifying suitable solution concepts to meet customer needs and develop models to evaluate
options.
- Identifying and developing preferred options that best meet the customer’s requirements and
are within our ability to deliver.
- Overseeing the use of simulation tools to validate solutions and test sensitivities.
- Assist Sales team members to guide customers through the solution development process and
help build strong customer relationships and company credibility.
- Assist sales with the preparation and delivery of customer presentations.
- Facilitate a smooth handover of new projects from sales to operations.
- Drive continuous improvement of solution concepts and designs by leveraging the latest technological advancements.
- Lead local concept development efforts, ensuring innovation and alignment with customer needs.
- Ensure all concepts are highly competitive while upholding technical integrity and feasibility.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable ISO standards and procedures.
- Prepare or support the preparation of proposals, tender submissions, and client presentations.
- Enhance and evolve the tools, processes, and infrastructure used for concept development.
- Recruit, train, retain, and develop new talents within the team.
- Apply sound commercial judgment to balance innovation with business objectives. Collaborate closely with regional and global Sales and Sales Support teams to align solutions with market needs and strategy.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- 8–10 years of consulting experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in leading teams through complex projects across Asia, with a particular focus on supporting the Taiwan market.
- In-depth industry knowledge in logistics, supply chain and/or the application of automation technologies.
- Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems, think laterally, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to challenging situations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through demanding projects, while providing technical oversight and mentorship.
- Advanced data analysis capabilities, with a deep understanding of system processes and performance metrics used to justify and develop clients’ solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts and solutions to a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in simulation and experience using simulation software tools.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence customers up to the General Management level and build lasting relationships.
- Solid understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage costs, assess outcomes, and meet critical deadlines.
- Expertise in concept development and a solid understanding of automation equipment capabilities.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in managing consultative selling processes.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and business judgment skills.
- Confident and persuasive communicator, able to clearly articulate ideas and solutions. Confident in representing and working directly with customers to present the solutions.
