Job description
- Provide on-site technical support for the installation, servicing, and repair of Krimpen and Arco control systems, including related mechanical tasks within area of expertise.
- Perform work on PLCs, electric drive systems, and ZF control systems; inspect wiring installations and supervise shipyard and crew activities to ensure compliance with drawings, quality, and contract specifications.
- Attend meetings at shipyards or onboard vessels with ship owners, crew, consultants, suppliers, technical superintendents, and yard managers to discuss outstanding and upcoming tasks.
- Support the Service Manager/Coordinator by providing technical assistance through the helpdesk.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to ZF quality standards; manage cost, schedule, and technical aspects, and submit clear, acknowledged service reports upon completion.
- Develop technical solutions and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders at all levels while collaborating within a regional matrix structure to support ZF Marine’s business growth.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Nitec or Diploma in Electrical (Mechatronics) Engineering.
- Traveling to local sites and overseas (on-site projects, regional assignment and manufacturing facilities) is required.
- Relevant work experience in a similar field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- Independent, proactive, and resourceful with a positive attitude; thrives under pressure and collaborates effectively as a strong team player with solid communication skills.
- Language proficiency: English (spoken, written, and read) is preferred. Proficiency in a second language, mother tongue, or local dialect is an added advantage.
- Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
