This position is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the plant. This includes driving energy optimization initiatives, maintaining high standards of electrical safety, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves developing safety procedures, conducting audits and inspections, and training staff on electrical safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Reliability & Performance
- Plan and manage the replacement schedule for electrical systems and components.
- Investigate complex equipment failures and lead root cause analyses.
- Recommend improvements or modifications to equipment and systems.
- Plan and execute Shutdown Maintenance (SDM) for electrical systems.
- Provide timely response to urgent electrical breakdowns.
2. Energy Efficiency
- Develop and review SOPs focused on optimizing energy consumption.
- Lead initiatives to reduce energy use and improve system efficiency.
3. Electrical Safety & Compliance
- Oversee and manage annual substation preventive maintenance.
- Handle electrical troubleshooting and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory of electrical components.
- Support and provide input for risk assessments and ensure systems meet regulatory standards.
4. Maintenance Strategy & Cost Optimization
- Supervise and evaluate contractors’ work and ensure compliance.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and evaluate contractor reports.
- Track and control project costs and RM expenses.
- Ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
5. Project Management & Vendor Oversight
- Review vendor contracts and assess contractor performance.
- Conduct audits on vendor services and ensure quality standards are met. Collaborate with the HQ technical team (UMT) for continuous improvement in processes and equipment reliability.
Requirement:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical MNC environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes and ESH regulations.
- Detail-oriented, disciplined, and resourceful.
- Proficient in computer applications and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and planning skills. Able to multitask and work under pressure with integrity and professionalism.
