Job Description
- Supervise the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in the tunnel, including:
Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs)
Power distribution (LV/HV systems)
Lighting systems
Ventilation systems
Fire detection and suppression systems
Dewatering pumps and drainage systems - Coordinate with engineers and project teams to ensure timely completion of electrical tasks.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections, quality checks, and safety audits.
- Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and ensure all documentation is completed.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes and tunnel safety regulations.
- Maintain and update electrical logs, reports, and inventory of materials and tools.
- Provide technical support to resolve issues on-site and recommend corrective actions.
- Train and supervise electrical technicians and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 year of experience in tunnelling.
- Experience with TBMs, tunnel infrastructure systems, and temporary site power setups.
- Can work Monday to Saturday , 12 shifts
- Must be able to perform day or night shifts underground on the TBM (including weekends and public holidays)
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging underground environments.
