Microsoft is built on Trust and is mission critical to Microsoft’s success. The Group Compliance Manager role is central to this as it leads our Controls and Compliance initiatives, reporting to the ASEAN GCR Compliance Lead.
The successful candidate will help facilitate the right culture within the Asia Sales Enablement and Operations (SE&O) organization to drive a “Business-Led Compliance” environment through deep business process understanding and communication skills. Key to this role will be the ability to manage risk, working closely across the Sales team, Microsoft Corporation and Finance.

Responsibilities
- Be the main point of contact on Compliance for the Asia SE&O Lead and to support the Asia SE&O Lead to drive a strong tone from the top with regards to a culture of compliance.
- Run Asia SE&O Compliance Committee meetings owned by the Asia SE&O Lead with participation from area level leaders, HR, CELA and other key stakeholders.
- Create value by providing compliance insights to help Asia SE&O achieve its business objectives compliantly by proactively identifying and mitigating risks to protect Microsoft’s interests.
- Monitor and champion Spend Compliance by leveraging Finance and Compliance teams in the region as well as to conduct regional training sessions to continue to drive awareness of Spend Compliance requirements for the region.
- Manage the Asia SE&O Compliance Champion community. This includes training and leveraging the Compliance Champs on driving a strong tone on compliance and supporting compliance concerns on a working level.
- Be the Asia Subject Matter Expert on End Customer Investment Funds (ECIF) and Azure Consumption Offers (ACO). This will involve representing Asia in global initiatives which look at streamlining and enhancing our controls in ECIF and ACO as well as performing active data driven monitoring, risk monitoring and engagement with key regional and global stakeholders. This also includes:
- Collaborate with ASIA SE&O team to drive ECIF compliance awareness/ training initiatives.
- Drive remediation for Asia wide systemic issues in ECIF.
- Participate in the Control Monitoring Insights (CMI) ECIF workstream for Asia.
- Lead the engagement with BAP services team and drive adoption/ standardization/ common remediations working with the appropriate business/ finance/ compliance stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage device seeding controls for Asia. This includes streamlining and aligning consistency of processes and controls across all Areas while considering specific/ local market needs as well as conducting Asia device seeding training as needed.
- Leveraging AI and automation tools where possible to:
- Perform data analytics and actionable insights to focus compliance efforts on the highest risk areas.
- Simplify, automate or eliminate activities to help the business achieve greater efficiency.
- Identify and address emerging or geo-specific risks.
- Support and engage with Internal Audit and help management develop issue remediation plans and facilitate closing issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial compliance, accounting, audit, internal controls and/or risk management.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Strong business-orientated mindset and skilled in managing stakeholders across different regions and areas.
- Ability to create a culture of compliance through influencing Senior Leaders and ensure you are seen as a Leader, not the sole owner of Compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and compliance programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideally 12+ years of relevant experience and prior regional exposure in covering Asia portfolio.
- Experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended. Experience in the online services and/or technology industries is a bonus.
- Good compliance understanding / experience for deal structuring and execution.
- Cloud expertise, machine learning/bot experience, and advanced Excel skills preferred.
