Job Description:
The Machine Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment used in production. The technician ensures all machines are running efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards. This role requires hands-on mechanical knowledge and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various machinery and equipment according to job specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform troubleshooting on faulty machinery and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues before they affect production
- Calibrate equipment to maintain accuracy and performance
- Record maintenance and service activities accurately
- Work closely with production staff to ensure minimal downtime
- Comply with workplace safety and equipment operation standards
- Report any major faults or potential hazards to supervisors promptly
- Assist in installation and testing of new machines or production systems
Requirements:
- Education: NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Experience: At least 1–3 years of experience in machine maintenance or technical support in a manufacturing or printing environment
- Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
Basic knowledge of PLCs, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic controls is an advantage
Ability to read mechanical drawings and service manuals - Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks - Others:
Willing to work overtime or shifts when required
Physically fit to handle machinery work and tools
Adherence to all health and safety procedures on site
