Responsibilities
- Manage real estate acquisitions and disposals in Singapore and overseas such as, Australia, UK and Japan. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management, business development, tax, financial planning, development planning & acquisition and/or corporate secretarial teams as well as external legal counsels to determine transaction structure, conduct due diligence, advise and address/mitigate risks, review and negotiate transaction documents.
- Prepare/review and negotiate joint venture/joint development term sheets/agreements in consultation with the senior management and other internal stakeholders.
- Provide legal support for ad-hoc operational matters, such as drafting/reviewing commercial contracts for purchase of goods and services, providing legal advice for tenancy, customer, employment etc issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and have at least 5 years’ PQE in law firms handling corporate real estate transactions or real estate financing or as an in-house counsel in real estate firms handling M&A or financing.
- Bar qualification in Singapore or other common law jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Ability to provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
