1. Purpose of Job:
- Provide counselling and music therapy support to cancer survivors and their family in a safe, confidential and encouraging environment in both individual and group setting
- Connect clients with relevant resources and aid beyond 365CPS where appropriate Work closely with various stakeholders to promote department services
2. Key responsibility areas :
Patient Support
- Analyse new cases to identify types of psychological support client might need.
- Performs assessments for patients and families to identify needs in order to set short and/or long-term goals
- Develop suitable music therapy interventions and educational programs for clients based on their needs, objectives, and preferred forms of music expression.
- Conduct group music therapy sessions
- Evaluate and monitor progress to review effectiveness and relevance of intervention plan
- Promotes evidenced-base care based on music therapy research findings
Referral & External Stakeholder Liaison
- Refer clients to relevant information or resources specific to their needs, including referral to healthcare professionals where appropriate
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in 365CPS to promote continuity of care for cancer survivors.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on various events and projects
Administrative Duties
- Maintain proper records of case administrative details to track and archive case progress
- Keeping track of current and future music supplies/resources
- Provide staff education on the role of music therapist in 365CPS Maintains professional competency including continuing education
3. Requirements
Experience:
- 1-2 years of working experience with community-based programs
- To be able to use basic counselling skills in addition to music therapy
- Registered and eligible for Association for Music Therapy (Singapore) or Singapore Association for Counselling membership
Qualifications:
Master's or bachelor degree in music therapyOther Requirements:
- Basic computer literacy in documenting electronic records
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
