[What the role is]
As a key member of the Planning Office, you will play a critical role in shaping Republic Polytechnic’s (RP’s) strategic direction. You will be responsible for conducting horizon scanning of local and global trends, researching emerging trends, and analysing future scenarios to inform institutional strategies. Drawing on these insights, you will develop strategic recommendations that support the formulation of RP’s medium- to long-term plans. This role is pivotal in supporting senior leadership by identifying opportunities and risks, enabling evidence-based decision-making and advancing RP’s institutional vision.[What you will be working on]
- Provide thought leadership to guide RP’s medium- to long-term planning based on local and global trends such as technology disruption (e.g. AI in education), emerging trends and development, demographic shifts or workforce skills gaps, youth trends (e.g. evolving aspirations & challenges), etc.
- Conduct environmental scans and policy analyses to surface strategic insights and develop evidence-based recommendations for senior management consideration, supporting the development of RP’s medium- to long-term strategies.
- Developing and continuously refining the processes, tools and methodologies for horizon scanning and futures thinking, leveraging AI and digital tools to enhance the team’s capabilities
- Lead strategic and corporate planning processes, aligning organisational objectives with sectoral developments and Ministry directions.
- Track and analyse organisational performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of institutional initiatives, identify improvement areas, and ensure alignment with RP’s strategic goals.
- Strengthen RP’s risk management framework by identifying and assessing potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and proposing appropriate controls.
- Champion innovation initiatives and lead institutional change management efforts to strengthen institutional agility, performance and responsiveness to change.
[What we are looking for]
- At least 7 - 10 years of relevant working experience in strategic planning or policy work
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to synthesise diverse information into strategic insights and actionable recommendations
- Ability to write clearly, and succinctly and making sound recommendations on policy related matters with strong verbal communication skills.
- Forward-thinking, resourceful, and adaptable individual who thrives in ambiguity and takes initiative to deliver outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities to coordinate across internal and external partners and manage tight timelines.
- Knowledge and/or experience in enterprise risk management, innovation management, or change management would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising AI and digital tools to streamline processes and enhance decision-making capabilities would be advantageous.
