The Procurement Engineer is responsible for the procurement of equipment, facilities, materials, and transportation related to Data Centre projects. This role will coordinate procurement activities to ensure the timely delivery of items to meet the requirements of the company's Data Centre projects. The Procurement Engineer will also manage the selection, layout, and price negotiations with suppliers, in alignment with the company’s procurement management methods and procedures. Furthermore, the position involves supplier capacity planning and implementing annual cost reduction strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement of all equipment, materials, facilities, and transportation services for Data Centre projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
2. Supplier Selection & Negotiation: Conduct the selection process for suppliers, negotiate pricing, and establish contractual agreements. Ensure that supplier services and materials align with project requirements.
3. Procurement Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of procured items and services, in line with project timelines and delivery requirements.
4. Supplier Capacity Planning: Analyse and plan the production and delivery capabilities of suppliers to ensure their capacity meets the project’s needs and schedule.
5. Cost Management & Reduction: Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate the best possible prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Develop strategies for cost savings and apply them effectively in procurement processes.
6. Procurement Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of procurement activities, including supplier agreements, orders, and delivery schedules. Prepare regular procurement reports for management.
7. Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure that procurement activities comply with the company’s procurement management methods, procedures, and industry standards. Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to understand project requirements and resolve any procurement-related issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within Data Centre projects, construction, or engineering sectors. Experience with large-scale, complex projects is highly advantageous.
o Strong negotiation and communication skills.
o Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
o Ability to manage multiple suppliers and handle large volumes of procurement tasks.
o Familiarity with Data Centre equipment and related infrastructure is preferred.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Bilingual in Mandarin and English preferred so as to liase with our stakeholders in China.

4. Supplier Performance: Supplier quality and reliability rating, target 90% satisfaction in audits and assessments.
5. Procurement Process Efficiency: Reduction in procurement cycle time, target 10%.
