Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage Cut & Cover and/or bored tunnelling works to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with project specifications
- Review and interpret monitoring instrumentation data, and ensure results are accurately presented and analyzed for design validation and safety assessment
- Conduct site inspections and ensure that contractors implement corrective, preventive, and mitigation measures to protect adjacent structures and utilities
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and authorities to resolve site issues and discrepancies
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and work procedures related to tunnelling activities
- Witness and document testing and commissioning activities
- Maintain accurate site records, including inspection reports, monitoring data, and progress updates
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tunnel construction, preferably with exposure to Cut & Cover and/or bored tunnelling methods
- Registered as a Resident Engineer (RE-Tunnel) with the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of IES/ACES
- Proven experience in reviewing and interpreting geotechnical instrumentation monitoring data
- Strong knowledge of local regulations and codes, including those from BCA, LTA, PUB, and other relevant authorities
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
