Scale-out NAS Storage & Backup Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical business systems.
• Manage and support backup operations across both physical and virtual environments.
• Configure and administer Dell EMC Isilon including capacity management, replication, and data protection.
• Oversee media handling, rotation schedules, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Maintain clear and updated documentation of policies, processes, and operational logs.
• Automate backup and storage tasks through scripting and scheduled jobs.
• Conduct regular backup validation and recovery tests to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to align storage and recovery objectives.
• Respond to incidents and service requests in accordance with IT service management best practices.

Requirements:

• Strong background in enterprise backup and recovery technologies i.e. Veeam Backup & Replication and Dell EMC Isilon
• Experience administering large-scale storage platforms
• Proven ability to design and implement data protection strategies
• Familiar with handling media lifecycle management and compliance requirements
• Proficient in scripting and task automation (e.g., PowerShell and command-line)
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, including RPO and RTO considerations
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
