About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, fearless, and deeply compassionate leader to join our Heal-the-World Team as a Community Health Advocate & Program Lead . This role is ideal for someone who has personally experienced illness or chronic disease and now channels that experience into driving change, supporting communities, and challenging health inequities.
You will lead initiatives that amplify the voices of patients, strengthen grassroots networks, and build programs that bring hope and healing to underserved communities. Your lived experience, resilience, and connection to the African/Singapore context will be central to the impact you create.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of patient-led programs across target African/Singapore communities or other-wise
- Advocate for equitable access to healthcare through storytelling, community engagement, and policy dialogue
- Build and manage relationships with grassroots organizations, health workers, and patient groups
- Co-create support initiatives with people who’ve experienced health crises (e.g., cancer, HIV, rare diseases)
- Represent the organization in regional forums, media, and health advocacy events
- Support monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement of community health programs
About You
- Lived experience with illness or chronic disease that fuels your purpose
- Strong emotional intelligence, deep empathy, and a trauma-informed mindset
- Bold, fearless communicator unafraid to challenge stigma and push for change
- Tenacious leader who follows through, even in the face of obstacles
- Proven experience in advocacy, community organizing, public health, or social impact roles
- Deep understanding of African or other-wise health systems and cultural contexts or other-wise
- Fluency in English/ Mandarin required; additional local languages an asset
