Job description: To provide accounting and tax services for SME clients
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly/annual full set of management accounts for small and medium companies in accordance with Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore (FRSs), including book-keeping, posting of accounting entries, generating of sales invoices, and keeping proper accounting records.
- Maintain accounting schedules such as bank reconciliations, fixed assets, receivables, prepayments, payables, accruals, loans, leases, etc, where applicable.
- For larger client groups, prepare consolidation of group accounts.
- Draft annual consolidated/separate financial statements in accordance with FRS.
- Convert financial statements to XBRL format for filing.
- Prepare corporate income tax computations and tax returns in accordance with Income Tax Act 1947, including review of IRAS correspondences and liaising with IRAS and the client on tax related matters.
- Handle and file withholding tax returns under Section 45 of the Income Tax Act 1947.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns and relevant reconciliations in accordance with Goods and Services Tax Act 1993.
- Assist in year-end audit liaising and coordination activities.
- Liaise with internal corporate secretarial team to ensure Annual Return filing deadlines are met.
- Communicate complex technical information to clients and other stakeholders.
- Build and manage relationship with clients.
- Review deliverables of junior team member.
- Handle other accounting related ad-hoc tasks.
Job requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy / ACCA or Professional Accounting Qualification.
- At least 5 years of audit and/or relevant accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge in financial accounting, particularly in FRS 110 and 28, and corporate income tax.
- Meticulous with a keen-eye for detail.
- Good team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently with positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, are a must.
