The Finance Business Partner (FBP) plays an instrumental role in establishing finance business partnership with stakeholders in University’s unit or group of University’s units. The partnership is vital to enable and ensure effective finance planning, reporting and operations in alignment with University’s policies and guidelines.
The role has a primary reporting line into the Office of Finance and a secondary reporting line into the University’s unit which is in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
Established in 1981, EEE is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the school is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with more than 100 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 6,000, of which about 3,000 are graduate students.
We invite applications for the position of Senior Assistant Manager. The incumbent shall support budgeting, finance, asset and procurement functions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drives effective end-to-end financial budget planning and forecasting for the self-financed teaching programmes.
- Assist in coordinating and compiling the inputs for self-financed teaching programmes for the annual budget submission for review by School Management.
- Work with the programme office to monitor the revenue and spending for the self-financed teaching programmes and update School Management and Office of Finance on the revenue and expenditure forecast on a quarterly basis.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify potential cost savings and implement cost control measures.
- Review purchase requests in accordance with the University and School’s procurement procedures and guidelines.
- Perform monthly review and follow-up of outstanding POs and advanced payments.
- Review and recommend asset transfer and disposal requests in accordance with the University and School financial procedures and guidelines.
- Review requests for P2P Ariba account access and change in delivery addresses in the P2P Ariba system.
- Update of the EEE Procurement handbook for dissemination to all staff on an annual basis.
- Any other ad-hoc administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Business from a reputable institution, preferably with CA qualifications.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in procurement and asset management. Prior experience in handling procurement at a local tertiary institution will be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge and working experience in SAP S/4 HANA system and SAP Ariba system.
- Strong organizing, planning and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Positive work attitude, self-driven and a strong team player.
- Customer-focused and able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- IT savvy, with good knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications.
