Ops COO – NRU unit is the nostro reconciliation hub for DBS group. The unit has two functions: - Nostro account reconciliation & the Business Management Support (BMS) that manages static data, feeds processes and production of daily MIS.The focus for this role is to support Nostro reconciliations activities, conduct investigation on nostro breaks and participate in new business initiatives and projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:Operational Excellence & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure daily Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Nostro reconciliation, GLAO and investigation are consistently met.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders on Nostro reconciliation matters, providing expert support and guidance whenever required.
- Ensure full compliance with all of the bank's policies, guidelines, and codes of conduct in all operational and project activities.
- Support innovation, re-engineering Nostro reconciliation and investigation processes to achieve significant process standardization, efficiency gains, and improved controls.
- Actively participate in new business initiative discussions, providing expert assessment of Nostro reconciliation requirements, identifying potential risks, and formulating robust action plans for resolution.
- Coordinate, and monitor project-related changes throughout their lifecycle, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
- Articulate compelling business case scenarios for project proposals, contributing significantly to project development and scoping from concept to execution.
- Support various testing cycles (e.g., UAT, SIT), meticulously analyze results, and provide clear, concise observations and recommendations to the project manager.
- Proactively highlight and escalate risks and issues impacting projects, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Enhance Nostro reconciliation automation through close collaboration with stakeholders, actively designing and creating auto-matching rules and other automated solutions.
- Develop a deep working knowledge of relevant workflow and office systems, consistently providing data-driven suggestions for improvements to reduce operational risks and increase productivity.
- Contribute to the identification of new AI use cases and opportunities within Nostro reconciliation, leveraging knowledge of emerging AI capabilities and industry best practices
- Assess the applicability and potential impact of AI technologies on existing workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and improved risk management within Nostro operations
- Actively participate in projects focused on evaluating, implementing, and integrating AI and Generative AI solutions to enhance Nostro reconciliation and investigation processes
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in Banking Operations.
- Proven extensive experience and deep understanding of Nostro reconciliation and investigation processes and principles within a financial institution.
- Demonstrated success in leading or significantly contributing to complex operational transformation projects, particularly those involving process re-engineering and automation.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and risk management.
- Ability to articulate business cases and contribute effectively to project scoping and development.
- Experience in supporting system testing cycles and providing insightful analysis of results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
