Job Summary:
The Senior Technology Manager is responsible for leading the Club’s technology function to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations across all systems, applications, and infrastructure. This role provides strategic leadership in technology planning, governance, and innovation while partnering with business units to enhance service delivery and the member experience. The incumbent will oversee technology strategy, vendor management, compliance, and the professional development of the Technology team, ensuring alignment with the Club’s overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Infrastructure and Systems Management
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of network and system operations.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Provide technical expertise and support for complex issues escalated by the Technology team.
- Deploy advanced technology solutions (e.g., Apps, Websites, ERG, POS, AI, Security, Reporting, Merchandising) to enhance the Tanglin Club member experience and improve service delivery.
2. Technology Policy and Governance
- Develop, review, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures in line with corporate guidelines and industry best practices.
- Ensure robust technology security to safeguard systems, data, and information assets against risks and vulnerabilities.
3. Technology Operations and Support
- Oversee the maintenance and support of POS machines and other critical business applications.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Club Application and proactively introduce new features to support departmental objectives.
- Liaise with end-users and vendors to implement system enhancements, modifications, and issue resolution.
- Ensure all departments maximize the use of Club Applications and technology by:
o Defining key metrics to measure adoption and success.
o Developing training and knowledge-transfer programs in
collaboration with HR.
4. Strategic Technology Procurement and Budget Management
- Evaluate, recommend, and procure hardware and software solutions aligned with organizational needs and emerging technologies.
- Establish and manage the Technology budget, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with long-term strategic goals.
- Assess the feasibility of a new Club Application RFP process by:
o Researching the latest club software offerings.
o Benchmarking against reciprocal clubs using alternative club
management system platforms (e.g., NorthStar, Jonas,
ClubEssential).
o Consulting with clubs in the APJ region, particularly Singapore,
to identify best practices.
5. Audit and Compliance Management
- Lead the Technology Department through internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Address audit findings and implement improvements to strengthen controls and governance.
6. Project and Change Management
- Plan, manage, and deliver technology projects on time, within scope, and budget.
- Introduce innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Engage with reciprocal clubs using similar systems to identify and implement “Best of Class” practices.
7. Leadership and Team Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the Technology team.
- Build a collaborative and performance-driven culture, supporting professional development and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
8. Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager to support the Club’s strategic and operational initiatives.
Technical Skills Requirements
- Windows 10 & 11 / iOS / Andriod troubleshooting
- Windows Server maintenance
- Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, Teams, etc.)
- Enterprise networking (VPN, Firewall, Switching, vLAN, WiFi, etc.)
- Experience with cyber security standards and personal data regulation
- Knowledge of club management system platforms e.g. Jonas System will be an advantage
Functional Skills Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage issues independently.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience for managerial position.
- Candidate needs to be passionate, well organized and self-motivated. Must possess good planning and organization skills
