Job's mission
Join ASM’s dynamic Systems Engineering team in Singapore, where you’ll help drive the future of advanced metal deposition technology. You’ll take ownership across the full product lifecycle — from architecture and design to integration and validation — ensuring our deposition platforms stay ahead of industry needs. In this role, your deep technical expertise will directly influence next-gen semiconductor innovation.
What you will be working on
- Lead the full systems engineering lifecycle for metal deposition tools — from concept through integration
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and process teams to define system architecture and interfaces
- Develop and manage system-level requirements, ensuring traceability through development and testing
- Drive integration of subsystems: vacuum chambers, wafer handling, PVD/CVD tech, thermal management, and control systems
- Resolve complex, multi-domain issues impacting process stability, hardware reliability, or performance
- Partner with process engineers to fine-tune deposition parameters and strengthen tool/process synergy
- Conduct system simulations, FMEAs, and design reviews to assess risk and guide design decisions
- Interface with suppliers for critical subsystems and plan system-level integration
- Support tool install, bring-up, and qualification at internal and customer sites
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
- Minimum 8 years in semiconductor capital equipment, including minimum of 3 years of experience working on deposition or vacuum systems
- Deep knowledge of vacuum systems, wafer handling, PVD/CVD, and plasma systems
- Proven background in systems engineering practices — from requirements and modeling to verification and validation
- Hands-on experience with design tools such as CAD, FEA and data analysis platforms such as MATLAB, Python, JMP, or similar engineering tools
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt in fast-paced R&D settings
What sets you apart
- Experience with advanced packaging (RDL, TSVs, bumping)
- Familiarity with supplier interface and component-level integration
- Track record working in agile development cycles or rapidly evolving environments
Apply today to be part of what’s next.
We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world. We do this with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through cutting-edge innovation, and driving the next wave of technological breakthroughs that shape how we live, work, and connect.
