Responsibilities:
Clinical Services
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify students' speech, language, and communication needs.
- Develop individualized intervention goals and plans in collaboration with students, families, and the school team.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions through consultations, one-on-one therapy, and/or group sessions.
- Perform ongoing evaluations to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress, and family communications.
- Collaborate with the Head of Student Support and Principal to develop and refine clinical protocols and service guidelines.
- Contribute to curriculum and programme development, with an emphasis on speech, language, and social-emotional learning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments for student admissions.
- Utilize appropriate assessment tools to recommend access arrangements for national exams, when required.
Coaching & Training
- Plan and conduct workshops for parents and training sessions for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship for junior and newly qualified speech and language therapists.
Continuing Professional Development
- Stay current with developments in speech and language therapy, especially evidence-based practices related to autism.
- Actively engage in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and service delivery.
- Remain informed about organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards of conduct.
- Contribute to the development of school-based curricula and programs as part of multidisciplinary initiatives.
Requirements:
- Possess a recognized Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology from an institution accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
- Hold a valid practising certificate with full registration under the AHPC.
