- Design & Drafting
Develop shop drawings , fabrication drawings , and submittal drawings for aluminum curtain wall systems based on architectural plans and specifications.
Create 3D models (using AutoCAD, Inventor, or Revit) to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
Design extrusions, assemblies, and components while considering structural integrity and thermal performance. - Project Coordination
Work with estimators, project managers, and production teams to ensure designs align with cost and manufacturing feasibility.
Assist in mock-up development and provide technical sales support when required.
Resolve design conflicts and optimize buildability for efficient fabrication and installation. - Compliance & Standards
Ensure designs meet local building codes, industry standards , and project specifications (e.g., structural, thermal, and aesthetic requirements).
Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and curtain wall systems (e.g., unitized, stick-built, semi-unitized). - Documentation & Training
Maintain organized design files, revision logs, and BOMs (Bill of Materials) .
Provide training and guidance to junior engineers or drafters.
- Education & Background
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering .
Some roles accept diploma holders with relevant experience . - Experience
3-6+ years in curtain wall or façade design , preferably in a fabrication or construction environment .
Experience with large-scale projects (e.g., commercial high-rises, airports) is a plus. - Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or BIM software .
Knowledge of aluminum, glass, gaskets, and other curtain wall materials .
Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles . - Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines . - Certifications (Preferred)
Licensed engineer (PE), LEED certification, or industry-specific training .
