The position will support the NTU Entrepreneurship Academy (NTUpreneur), which is part of the University’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) cluster. NTUpreneur provides students with the academic rigour and immersive experiences to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset as well as equip students with the necessary skillsets, tools and networks that will help them to be future-ready and thrive in an increasingly disruptive global marketplace.
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, Overseas Entrepreneurship Programme (OEP), the candidate will manage and implement the operations of the global placement in NTUpreneur’s Undergraduate OEP.
Job Responsibilities:
Engage overseas placement representatives, facilitation and development of new startup partners in Europe who are willing to offer internship opportunities
Implement and manage the global placement operations of the OEP, particularly in Europe, and manage OEP representatives there
Develop new markets in Europe when necessary, laying groundwork and understanding visa requirements in order for student internships to go ahead
Ensure sufficient placement pipelines are established among startups and corporates in Europe, securing internship opportunities alongside the OEP representative, ensuring internship placements are sustainable
Oversee the overall engagement efforts with various colleges and schools in NTU, to increase awareness of OEP as part of NTUpreneur. Encourage increased students’ participation in OEP as well as other undergraduate offerings in NTUpreneur
Ensure OEP contributes to a holistic and comprehensive entrepreneurship education in conjunction with other undergraduate programmes such as the Minor in Entrepreneurship and the Second Major in Entrepreneurship.
Engage OEP alumni and coordinate outreach events, student workshops and OEP alumni activities, with a goal of leveraging them to support NTUpreneur’s mission
Support in collation of reports/surveys when needed by government ministries and statutory boards such as MOE. Assist in reporting of student and financial details to MOE’s Global Innovation Alliance
Assist with the disbursement of various student grants and be the key information holder on the grants, raising issues when necessary and proposing viable solutions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any discipline.
Strong understanding of education approach to entrepreneurship is essential.
Good understanding of the startup ecosystem and overseas startup landscape.
Good understanding of the startup founder’s mindset, the startup journey in its scale and operations and the capability gaps in scaling up.
Experience working in Institutes of Higher Education (IHEs) or equivalent educational institutions.
Experience collaborating with government agencies, foreign trade offices, and embassies.
Experience working in or with startups, VCs, accelerators or incubators.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
A good team player.
