Why this role matters
The Global Carrier Management team, which sits within the Vonage API organization, is responsible for global connectivity for our Messaging, Voice, and Telco Network API business. The team supports one of the fastest growing CPaaS companies in the market, directly managing our OTT and wholesale customer base, whilst working closely with our Enterprise sales teams to develop and implement regional connectivity and strategic plans.
We are seeking to recruit a Carrier Relations Manager (APAC) to join the team. This person will help the team secure the best network connectivity and commercial terms to drive our customers’ success. This hands-on role enables Vonage to deliver the high quality and breadth of service our customers expect.
Your key responsibilities
- Create, own, execute the strategy and plan for your assigned countries and ensure Vonage has the best connectivity products and services to meet our customers' needs.
- Collaborate with CSP project teams, business development, sales, operations and product teams to fully understand the market requirements, and deliver required connectivity
- Build new connectivity with Carriers,Operator and Partners across Messaging, Voice, and next generation network APIs
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key Carriers,Operator and Partners
- Position Vonage as the preferred partner to work within the community through industry engagement, thought leadership, and partnership
- Negotiate effectively with Carriers, Operators and Partners on an ongoing basis to allow Vonage to offer our customers competitive pricing and an excellent service
- Define customer support standards with Carriers, Operator and Partners, including a robust escalation process
- Be the go-to person for your markets
- Work with Vonage Product Team to develop new commercial models for connectivity under your care to drive growth
What you'll bring
Required
- Strong technical, commercial, and operational understanding of the Messaging and Voice landscape
- Knowledge of carrier relations and an ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Knowledge of how the local markets are regulated, operated and managed
- Experience working with Carriers in region
- Fluent English language skills
- Experience working in complex commercial projects involving extended teams
- Knowledge of the cloud communications industry
- Pro-active, hands-on team player, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ability to work with cross-functional global teams
- Occasional travel to meet partners or conferences to drive business outcomes
Experience we consider a plus
- Strong network of Operator contacts in the industry
- Experience with Singapore regulatory landscape
- Working knowledge of advanced network APIs and RBM
- Knowledge of market insights, competitive landscape and cost structures
- Ability to speak and work with some local languages
