Job Description
We are looking for a highly driven Construction Manager to lead and coordinate on-site activities for industrial and commercial construction projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical and regulatory standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Planning:
Develop and execute detailed project plans, milestones, and schedules.
Lead project kick-off, construction coordination, and handover meetings.
- Site & Safety Management:
Supervise daily site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, local codes, and environmental standards.
Proactively identify and resolve safety risks and operational bottlenecks.
- Subcontractor & Stakeholder Coordination:
Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, and timeline requirements.
Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams for seamless coordination.
- Cost & Budget Control:
Monitor project expenditures and assist in controlling cost deviations.
Provide input for procurement planning, VO claims, and resource allocation.
- Quality Assurance:
Enforce project quality standards through inspections, checklists, and corrective measures.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with specifications and technical drawings.
- Risk & Progress Management:
Anticipate potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Track project progress and report updates to senior management and clients.
- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive site records including daily reports, inspection logs, and HSE documentation.
Submit timely reports on progress, incidents, manpower, and material usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (E&E), Construction Management , or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction project supervision, preferably in industrial, semiconductor, or EPC projects .
- Familiarity with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and MOM/SCDF/NEA requirements .
- Proven experience in managing subcontractors and handling multi-disciplinary coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Mandarin-speaking preferred to liaise with Chinese-speaking teams and HQ.
