Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and dismantle marine cranes and related lifting equipment on vessels, offshore platforms, or dock facilities.
- Inspect crane components and systems to ensure integrity and operational safety before and after installation.
- Follow technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications for precise crane erection.
- Collaborate with marine engineers, riggers, and crane operators to ensure efficient and safe installation.
- Adhere to marine safety standards and protocols, including compliance with IMO, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Use appropriate tools, lifting gear, and rigging equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of crane systems as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation of work activities, inspections, and safety checks.
- Work in coordination with vessel or platform schedules to minimize downtime during crane installation or removal.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a crane erector in marine or offshore environments.
- Strong knowledge of marine crane mechanics, rigging, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces on vessels or offshore structures.
- Familiarity with maritime safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding work conditions, including exposure to weather and sea conditions.
- Certification or training in crane assembly, rigging, and offshore safety practices (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
