Purpose of Job:
- Provide nutrition education to clients to improve their nutritional status during their cancer journey, including both treatment and survivorship phases.
- Promote nutrition literacy and cancer preventive lifestyle among the public.
- Plan and develop community outreach programs and cancer education workshops. Connect clients with cancer to relevant resources and support services beyond 365CPS where appropriate.
Key responsibility areas:
Dietary Consultation
- Conduct individual nutrition assessments and develop care plans based on clinical findings. Provide evidence-based dietary guidance to clients and their caregivers according to medical conditions.
Community Nutrition and Advocacy
- Plan, develop and conduct educational programs, workshops, public talks and cooking demonstrations.
- Engage the community to adopt healthy eating behavior and make healthy food choices. Curate educational material on healthy eating habits and nutritional information through various marketing platforms e.g., quarterly newsletter, recipe books, blog posts, media responses etc.
Food Service
- Assist in planning and revising menus for Social Service Centre (SSC) kitchen including special occasion menus.
- Guide kitchen staff in executing recipes in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Assist in kitchen food safety and hygiene audit to evaluate kitchen cleanliness and compliance with regulations. Assist in conducting a menu satisfaction survey for clients.
Referral & External Stakeholder Liaison
- Refer clients to appropriate resources or healthcare professionals based on their needs. Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure best practice and high-quality care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree/ Master’s degree/ Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics or any equivalent.
- Preferably with working experience or demonstrated interest in the field of oncology.
- Preferably a member of Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA).
