Job Description
Summary:
BW LPG Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated accounting professional to maintain the company's financial records. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing critical financial activities for the Group's Product Services division, including executing accurate journal entries, supporting period-end closing processes, and assisting with treasury and tax reporting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Execute accounting functions, including preparing and processing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation, ensuring timely and accurate period-end closing for a fast-paced finance environment
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards (FRS in Singapore, IFRS) and local statutory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as business controlling, treasury, tax and external auditors to collect, verify, and deliver accurate financial data for reporting
- Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, updates to accounting documentation, and supporting materials
- Assist in the coordination and support of internal and external audit processes, including preparing audit schedules, responses and related documentation
Qualifications
Required skills and qualifications
- Proficiency with standard systems and spreadsheets for invoicing and billing
- Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and best practices
- Significant experience with office productivity applications, with a strong aptitude for learning new systems and approaches
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time, whether working independently or as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information
Preferred skills and qualifications
- At least three years of experience in an accounting or auditing role
- Prior experience in the trading or commodities industry is highly advantageous, with a solid understanding of industry-specific financial practices and reporting standards
- Competency with financial accounting software package will be an advantage
