Job Title: Fragrance Production Manager (Automated System)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically strong Fragrance Production Manager (Automated System) to oversee daily fragrance production operations while driving automation and process efficiency initiatives. This hybrid role combines team supervision, production planning, and cross-functional coordination with hands-on engineering responsibility for integrating automation solutions to improve consistency, output, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations & Planning
- Coordinate daily and weekly production schedules to meet delivery timelines and customer requirements.
- Oversee compounding, blending, and filling processes, ensuring adherence to formulations, quality, and safety standards.
2. Automation & Process Engineering
- Lead integration of automation systems to streamline manual processes and improve output consistency.
- Customise automation solutions based on fragrance production needs such as precise dosing, temperature control, and mixing accuracy.
- Collaborate with external vendors, Engineering, and IT teams for automation upgrades and new system implementation.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Work with QA/QC to ensure product quality and compliance with GMP and internal standards.
- Support root cause analysis for quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure production documentation (batch logs, yield reports, etc.) is accurate and audit-ready.
4. Equipment & Maintenance
- Monitor equipment performance and initiate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support the evaluation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery or system enhancements.
5. Team Supervision & Training
- Support production supervisors in assigning tasks, monitoring team performance, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Assist in training operators and technicians on automation systems and new production processes.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and propose process improvements to reduce downtime, waste, and manual dependency.
- Lead or support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and digitalization initiatives across the production floor.
- Propose and drive automation or system upgrades aligned with long-term operational goals.
7. Inventory & Coordination
- Monitor raw materials, packaging, and WIP inventory to ensure timely replenishment and avoid production delays.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Logistics teams for smooth material flow and dispatch readiness.
8. Health, Safety & Risk Management
- Promote safety practices across the production area and participate in regular safety drills and audits.
- Support contingency planning for production disruptions and ensure all activities comply with safety standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
- 3–6 years of experience in production operations and automation engineering, preferably in fragrance, cosmetics, food, or chemical manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, 5S, and production process flows.
- Hands-on experience with automation systems.
- Solid understanding of fragrance compounding, blending, and filling processes is a strong plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production-related software (ERP, MES); CAD skills and data analysis are a plus.
- Willing to work on-site and supervise on the production floor.
