O ur customers and the business world need to know they can trust us. Corporate Communications focuses on protecting and enhancing AIG’s reputation and valuation. Our multi-disciplinary team acts as an in-house “agency” – deploying high-quality comms capabilities at the forefront of strategic advisory and integrated execution services.
How you will create an impact
The Head of Marketing and Communications for Singapore is the senior professional responsible for AIG General Insurance marketing and communications in Singapore. This role focuses on delivering measurable marketing outcomes, including stakeholder engagement, differentiated thought leadership, content marketing, sponsorship activations and sales enablement in support of AIG Singapore’s business. This role also focuses on sustainable communications efforts, including internal communications, leadership communications, media relations, industry relations and social media.
Reporting to the APAC Regional Head of Marketing and Communications, the Singapore Marketing & Communications lead will work closely with the Singapore CEO and his leadership team to deliver leadership impact, drive colleague engagement, activate AIG corporate initiatives locally and serve as a counselor and business partner in support of General Insurance’s APAC business strategy.
Marketing
- Working closely with distribution teams to develop and drive product/solutions marketing for the Singapore market, including customer value propositions that establish and reinforce AIG’s full capabilities to clients and brokers.
- Provide guidance to business leaders on AIG Singapore marketing plans and budgets aligned with Singapore’s business strategy and General Insurance’s APAC and global priorities.
- Develop best practices for demand-driven thought leadership, attributable content marketing and social media marketing to facilitate sales growth.
- Serve as a business partner to business leaders with responsibility for leading the development and approval of marketing plans including product launches and events.
- Lead the development, approval and implementation process for local industry sponsorships within General Insurance’s established programs.
- Through proactive engagement with Legal and Compliance, ensure that marketing communications and materials comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements including relevant advertising standards, Fair Trading Act, Companies Act, Insurance Act and financial services legislation.
- In collaboration with GI’s Creative Center of Excellence, ensure consistent AIG brand identity in Singapore. Manage all brand-licensing arrangements within Singapore in accordance with AIG policy and procedures, including maintaining accurate records of all such arrangements.
Communications
- Develop and manage an annual and quarterly strategic communications planning process, including leadership messaging, targeted communications to brokers/clients/customers, employee engagement programs aligned with General Insurance’s global messaging, general business and industry media relations, and social media campaigns to raise visibility of the AIG brand and its solutions.
- Manage Singapore media relations, including news releases, social media engagement, interviews and issues and crisis management communications.
- Manage website pages, country intranet, including content strategy and product positioning in support of business lines, ensuring effective user experience and monitoring internet-based activity.
- Manage internal communications activities, including Country General Manager Communications strategy, messaging and supporting tactics including internal communications, social media and town halls.
- Manage media training program for select executives within AIG’s established media relations and social media guidelines.
- Align with General Insurance’s Global Media Relations Center of Excellence and submit updates on media relations activities and proactively manage reputational challenges.
- General Manage the marketing & communication budget and any vendor contracts.
- Serve as an effective team member within the APAC regional Marketing and Communications team, including actively mentoring junior colleagues toward higher levels of performance.
- Sit on AIG Singapore EXCO as active member of leadership team.
