Head of Technology and Commercialisation, Polymeric Solution & Application

Leadership of Plastic Tech Development

• Lead the development and execute the commercialisation of SMX polymeric technology from proof-of-concept (POC) to full industrial roll-out;
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive library of markers/codes for polymeric applications within SMX’s strategic portfolio;
• Formulate and optimise markers/codes for polymeric applications to meet performance, cost, and regulatory targets;
• Study and understand material characteristics & processing methods across relevant industries and chemistry fields to inform solution design;
• Develop quick POCs to showcase solutions for concept demonstrations and client validation; and
• Takes full ownership and responsibility for the success and execution of the Singapore Plastic Circularity Project with A*STAR. Actively establish a commercial model and network with the objective to scale it up for commercialization.

Global Project Replication & Frequent Travel

• Takes full ownership and responsibility to replicate and scale the Singapore Plastic Circularity Project in Japan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Europe (UK), and other priority regions; and
• Maintain a high level of international travel readiness, with no delegation of critical travel responsibilities without prior written approval.

Supply Chain Creation, Development & Management

• Establish and manage the full supply chain of markers, raw materials, and solution providers to support global deployment of SMX plastic solutions; and
• Ensure supplier quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with all relevant consumer, production, industrial, workplace health & safety, environmental and country/region regulations and standards.

Operational & Commercial Execution

• Create and develop integrated project plans (scope, timeline, resources, cost, and risk) for all assigned projects;
• Oversee a fully functioning R&D laboratory, including literature research, equipment procurement, logistics, and development of lab work processes;
• Prepare all internal and external documentation, including technical reports, operational manuals, and funding proposals; and
• Actively establish commercial models and networks in line with the A*STAR pilot project to enable global scale-up and commercialisation.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

• Prepare and deliver demonstrations of SMX technology on demand to stakeholders and potential clients; and
• Collaborate closely with the A*STAR team on technical development and joint funding proposals.

Team Leadership

• Train, mentor, and supervise subordinates, monitoring progress against defined work plans and KPIs.
