FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of bunker trading activities at PIMD. This includes managing all aspects of the bunker trading process, such as sourcing cargo from suppliers, ensuring transportation readiness, evaluating pricing, and assessing sales performance. The officer is tasked with mitigating market risk exposure for the bunker trading book. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the Finance team to track customer credit payment performance and manage supplier settlements, as well as working with the Legal team to handle contract management, dispute resolution, and ensure compliance with global sanctions policies, ensuring all bunker trading operations at PIMD are in line with relevant regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Oversee the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and plans for bunker trading operations at PIMD.
2. Supervise and manage bunker trading activities, from sourcing cargo bunkers from suppliers to ensuring the availability of transportation (bunker barges), providing price quotations to customers, and conducting sales evaluations.
3. Monitor and manage the risk exposure of the bunker trading book to protect against adverse market movements.
4. Manage the performance of consumer credit facilities and coordinate with the Finance department to ensure timely payments from customers and settlements with suppliers.
5. Coordinate with the Legal team to manage contracts, General Terms & Conditions, resolve disputes, and ensure adherence to global sanctions and policies affecting companies and vessels.
AUTHORITY
Negotiate the selection of vendors and suppliers in the procurement process for goods and services, in line with established guidelines.
