We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior CDP to join our kitchen team and help us deliver exceptional food with a focus on both quality and creativity.
Job Description: As the Junior Chef de Partie (CDP), you will play a pivotal role in the kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of dishes in accordance with the café’s standards. You’ll be responsible for managing a section of the kitchen, supervising junior chefs, and working closely with the Head Chef to execute our menu and elevate the overall culinary experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items in your designated section (pastry, bakery, or hot kitchen)
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste
- Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring that kitchen operations run smoothly
- Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for new bakery and café items
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with food safety regulations
- Manage stock levels, ensure proper storage, and assist with inventory control
- Monitor and minimize food wastage and assist with cost control
- Work closely with the Head Chef and other team members to ensure timely service and smooth coordination in the kitchen
- Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CDP or in a similar role, preferably in a bakery, café, or restaurant setting
- Strong experience in bakery and/or pastry production, with an eye for detail in presentation and flavor
- Passion for food and a commitment to creating high-quality, innovative dishes
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, with excellent communication and team-building skills
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and consistency
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
