Job Description:
The Laundry Supervisor oversees the washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens, uniforms, and other textiles. They ensure that all laundry operations run smoothly, equipment is maintained, and staff follows proper procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Laundry Operations:
Assign tasks to laundry operators and ensure timely processing of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry.
Monitor workflow to maximize efficiency and meet quality standards.
- Quality Control:
Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, and damage.
Ensure proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding techniques are followed.
- Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee the proper use of washers, dryers, ironers, and other machinery.
Report malfunctions and schedule routine maintenance.
- Inventory & Supplies Management:
Track linen inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.
Order detergents, fabric softeners, and other laundry supplies as needed.
- Staff Training & Supervision:
Train new laundry staff on procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
Monitor performance and provide feedback or corrective action when necessary.
- Safety & Compliance:
Enforce hygiene, OSHA, and workplace safety regulations.
Ensure proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Customer/Client Service:
Address guest or client concerns regarding laundry services
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous laundry or housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high cleanliness and quality standards.
- Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing workflow and inventory.
