[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Youth Work in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our academic team in Psychology and Community Development. The successful candidate is expected to develop/teach modules that foster understanding of human behaviour to shape society and create real impact for communities.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:
Youths & Society
Wellness for Youths
Youth Engagement & Outreach
Knowing & Engaging Youths
Youths & Technology
Managing Stakeholders: Engaging Parents & Community
Group Dynamics & Facilitation
Delivering Effective Programmes for Resilient Youth
Lead and identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations with industry stakeholders, related government agencies, social enterprises, community organisations & institutes of higher learnings
Be up to date with the latest developments in social innovation, human-centred design and interdisciplinary learning
Manage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projects
[What we are looking for]
Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Psychology, Community Development or related fields, any prior research experience in the fields of social and behaviour science, mental wellness and related discipline
Extensive experience in the youth sector, encompassing both direct service delivery and program management
Interest in adult education and a willingness to support continuing education initiatives are valued
An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
Project/time management and attention to detail
A tenacious attitude with a growth mindset
