Job Purpose
The LNG Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on LNG facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports daily operations of LNG storage tanks, pipelines, and associated utilities in compliance with industry safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on LNG equipment, including pumps, compressors, vaporizers, storage tanks, valves, piping systems, and instrumentation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults in LNG systems.
- Support turnaround and shutdown activities, including inspections, overhauls, and testing.
- Safety & Compliance
- Carry out maintenance work in accordance with LNG safety procedures, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and HSE regulations.
- Monitor equipment for leaks, corrosion, and abnormalities to prevent hazardous occurrences.
- Ensure compliance with international and local codes (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA, and relevant Singapore/IMO standards).
- Operations Support
- Assist in commissioning, start-up, and shutdown of LNG systems and facilities.
- Coordinate with operations teams to minimize downtime during maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, spare parts usage, and equipment history.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process/equipment improvements to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Participate in training and skill development for LNG operations and maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline.
Experience:
- 2 years of maintenance experience in LNG, petrochemical, oil & gas, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems, pumps, compressors, and control systems preferred.
- Possess Class 3 driving licence
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Basic computer literacy
- Team player with strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor, confined space, or cryogenic environments.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call duty when required.
