Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Structural Engineer to perform advanced structural analyses and design evaluations for a wide range of marine structures. The successful candidate will ensure all designs meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable industry codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of marine structures including ships, offshore platforms, and subsea installations.
- Utilize advanced finite element analysis (FEA) tools and software to conduct stress, fatigue, and dynamic analyses.
- Develop and validate structural models to simulate and predict performance under various loading conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural analysis results into overall project designs.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis.
- Provide technical support during the construction, installation, and operational phases of projects.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in marine structural engineering and analysis methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in structural analysis and design of marine structures.
- Proficiency in using FEA software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of marine structural codes and standards (e.g., DNV GL, ABS, ISO).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with structural analysis of offshore wind turbines, oil & gas platforms, and subsea structures and marine vessels.
- Familiarity with software tools such as MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages for custom analysis and automation.
- Knowledge of marine construction techniques and materials.
