Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering Support:
- Assist in the development of data center designs, including power distribution, cooling systems, and infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and perform engineering calculations.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, Singapore Code of Practice, etc).
Construction Oversight:
- Monitor and supervise construction activities, including builder, electrical and mechanical works.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with drafters, contractors and subcontractors to resolve construction issues and maintain project schedules.
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct quality inspections and tests on equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and data center standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA, etc).
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and track project progress to identify and address potential issues.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, construction schedules, and test reports.
- Generate progress reports and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of all project activities and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Polytechnic diploma (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical or a related field
- More than 2 years of experience in data center engineering, construction, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power systems and cooling systems
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
