Job Summary
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager ensure comprehensive operations of the warehouse and logistics processes, encompassing inventory control, order fulfillment, and transportation logistics ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing operational performance. This role includes managing relationships with Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers and Global stakeholders and own people development for the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a team to ensure that all warehouse operations facilities, equipment, inventory records including receiving, storing, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping, comply with internal and external safety regulations, industry and audit standards.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize inventory, space management, partnerships with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure overall operational efficiency, delivery speed and effectiveness, readiness in complying with customers’ and audit requirements.
- Determine timely and cost-effective delivery or shipping routes and SLAs (Service Level Agreement) for both internal and external customers, global and transporter vendors ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and reliable on-time delivery.
- Lead, coach and develop warehouse and logistics staff, cultivate a work environment oriented towards growth, safety, and continuous improvement. Balance staffing with workloads, implement performance management systems, as well as conduct training programs and regular feedback sessions to enhance staff skills and career progression.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by driving Lean savings initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing waste across all warehouse and logistics functions.
- Oversee team’s implementation of deviation management processes and change control procedures and provide support for improvements for the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse and logistics operations.
- Manage the warehouse and logistics budget by monitoring expenses and identifying areas for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Evaluate regular warehouse and logistics data to provide monthly operation reporting, insights and improvement recommendations.
- Lead and support ad hoc projects and additional assignments by the manager.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven work experience in logistics and warehouse management, preferably with 3PL experience.
- Minimum 8 years of direct working experience in logistics and/or warehouse function within a highly regulated manufacturing environment including 5 years in a people management capacity.
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and proficiency in warehouse and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with change control methodologies and deviation management processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data to drive decisions.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in transportation and freight management
- Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in a warehouse setting, with occasional travel to other facilities.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours to manage time-sensitive operations and projects.
