Net Zero CoE Intern
Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Net Zero Center of Excellence (COE) team. This role will support research, carbon accounting, business development, and client project delivery, with a focus on aligning sustainability practices with global standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in environmental engineering or environmental science, familiarity with GHG Protocol and ISO standards, and excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills. Prior experience in a consulting firm is preferred. A “Can-Do” spirit and willingness to learn are essential. Key Responsibilities1. Research & Carbon Accounting
- Assist in carbon footprint calculations for organizations and products using GHG Protocol and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14064, ISO 14067).
- Support the development and refinement of Excel-based tools for emissions tracking and reporting.
- Conduct benchmarking of industry best practices and regulatory trends (e.g., CSRD, SEC Climate Rules).
- Assist in Salesforce CRM management, including updating client records and tracking engagements.
- Contribute to drafting Statements of Work (SOW), proposals, and presentations for sustainability projects.
- Support the creation of thought leadership materials (e.g., whitepapers, case studies, blog posts).
- Develop training materials and course content on carbon accounting and net-zero strategies.
- Assist in organizing and delivering internal/external knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Help maintain a repository of best practices, tools, and templates for the team.
- Support client projects by preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and document key insights.
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Prior internship or work experience in a consulting firm (preferred).
- Exposure to sustainability/ESG projects (a plus).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data visualization, formulas).
- Familiarity with GHG Protocol (Scope 1–3), ISO 14064/14067, and corporate sustainability frameworks (e.g., SBTi, CDP).
- Basic understanding of Salesforce or CRM tools (preferred but not mandatory).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting proposals and reports.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- “Can-Do” attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
