SUMMARY
The Planning Engineer will oversee the scheduling and planning efforts for assigned shipbuilding projects, ensuring the efficient execution of project schedules.
This includes reviewing regular project updates, analysing progress, and reporting key insights to management.
This position will play a key role on Project Control and Schedule management and maintaining strong communication with the project team and management. It also requires a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and industry experience to drive successful project outcomes in the shipbuilding environment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain project documentation
- Maintain project documentation including planning documents, schedule updates, and progress reports.
- Maintain documentation on lessons learned and historical data, for future reference and process improvements.
2. Schedule Analysis
- Analyse Programme and verify programme updates
- Maintain a Change matrix including Variations and other events.
3. Project Planning and Analysis
- Develop and monitor progress measurement tools such as histograms, S-curves, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Perform critical path analysis.
- Analyse mitigation strategies and assess the effectiveness.
- Assess potential schedule impacts due to scope changes or delays.
4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Review progress reports and report to management.
- Conduct regular schedule risk analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and risks. Documentation and Lessons Learned Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including lessons learned and historical data, for future reference and process improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of shipbuilding processes, fabrication techniques, and relevant industry standards.
- Planning Software Proficiency: Expertise in project management software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

- Proven track record in project planning and scheduling within a complex manufacturing environment.
Education:
