Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Preschool Music Teacher to inspire young children through the joy of music, rhythm, and creative movement. The ideal candidate is someone who believes in play-based learning and can bring music alive in the early childhood classroom.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging music and movement lessons for children aged 18 months to 6 years.
- Incorporate singing, rhythm instruments, percussion, body movement, and dramatic musical play.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into thematic learning experiences.
- Support the Starlight Theatre™ enrichment programme through creative storytelling and performance-based activities.
- Observe and document children’s learning and progress in music development.
- Participate in school events, performances, and parent engagement activities.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T or equivalent), OR
- Music Degree/Diploma with relevant early childhood music teaching experience.
- Certification in early childhood music education methodologies (e.g., Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze) is an advantage.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience with young children in music or performing arts.
- Proficient in playing at least one musical instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, ukulele, percussion).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, playful, and reflective in practice.
