The College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on differential privacy algorithms with applications in computational processes.
- Develop innovative ideas to enhance existing algorithms and frameworks.
- Collaborate on applying privacy-preserving algorithms to machine learning models.
- Analyse and interpret findings, ensuring scientific rigour and practical relevance.
- Prepare and submit manuscripts to leading conferences and journals such as S&P, USENIX, SIGMOD, VLDB, TODS, NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, or ICLR.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline with a strong computer science and mathematical foundation.
- Academic Excellence: Excellent academic record from a top-tier university (e.g., First-Class degree or Top student in the class).
- Research Experience: Prior experience in algorithm development or differential privacy is preferred.
- Publication Record: A track record of publication in reputable conferences or journals is a plus.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages relevant to algorithm implementation is desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with top researchers.
