Job Summary:
As the Restaurant Captain, you will oversee daily operations to ensure smooth service, staff efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of Japanese hospitality (“Omotenashi”) and authentic culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff during shifts
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
- Assist in scheduling, training, and mentoring team members
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels
- Ensure cleanliness and safety protocols are consistently followed
- Coordinate with kitchen and management teams for smooth operations
- Assist in implementing promotions, seasonal menus, and special events
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in restaurant supervision or management (Japanese cuisine preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Japanese food, drinks, and culture
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus
- Food Safety Certification is an asset
