Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales / Business Development Lead to spearhead our entry into the bearings market in the Asia Pacific region. This is a critical role responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with potential and key customers, with a particular focus on steel mills and other related industry users of bearings.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the bearings industry, a strong network of industry contacts, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. Additionally, the candidate should possess essential technical knowledge of bearings, including keen appreciation of various application conditions and associated suitable specifications for each, to facilitate technical-based sales and customer support.
Market Development & Sales Growth
- Develop and implement a business development strategy for the Asia Pacific region (excluding China).
- Identify and prioritize target markets, focusing on steel mills and related sectors.
- Prospect new customers and leverage personal network to develop opportunities.
- Create marketing materials to support sales team efforts.
- Collaborate with communications team to enhance online visibility using SEO, SEM, and SMM.
- Develop creative commercial solutions, including sales contracts.
- Work with functional teams to realize sales opportunities.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the company.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across the bearings supply chain, including customers’ procurement teams, and our selected supply partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on bearings, ensuring high level of customer satisfaction and promptly attending to their technical and commercial needs.
Market Research & Intelligence
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and new business opportunities.
- Provide regular updates on market conditions, including pricing, customer preferences, and competitors’ strategies.
Technical & Product Expertise
- Have a working knowledge of bearings, including types, specifications, and application requirements.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to meet customer needs with appropriate solutions.
- Educate customers on product applications and assist with basic technical queries.
- Stay updated on product innovations and advancements to offer value-driven solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in the bearings industry, with a proven track record in business development or sales.
- Strong exposure to industrial customers, especially steel mills, in the Asia Pacific region, and demonstrable network of contacts Demonstrated success in entering new markets and achieving measurable business growth.
Skills & Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of bearings products, applications, specifications, and supply chain in the region; global knowledge is a plus.
- Established network of customers and distributors in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China), especially in the steel industry; global networks are a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, sales, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strategic thinker capable of developing effective business strategies and creative commercial solutions for long-term success.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with various stakeholders to achieve business goals.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English is required. Additional proficiency in local language(s) of the region is a plus.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel extensively across the Asia Pacific region as required to meet customers and attend industry events.
