Satellite Systems Mechanical Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal mechanical interface and design of the overall satellite (e.g. perform detailed static, dynamic and thermal analysis of satellite systems and subsystems)
- Lead the mechanical design and development of innovative subsystem chassis and other satellite structures, optimising for stiffness, thermal performance, mass and manufacturability
- Provide mechanical support during satellite assembly, integration and testing phases, including environmental qualification phases
- Conduct research on advanced materials and manufacturing techniques to enhance the satellite design capabilities
- Conduct research and development of novel deployable structures to enhance the capabilities of the satellites
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS) to perform detailed static, dynamic and thermal analysis of satellite systems and subsystems
- Experience in Solidworks and design iterations tools
- Knowledge in satellite environment requirements, materials and manufacturing processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to details
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present complex technical information clearly
